"It was summer 1983, the producers of Rocktober Blood were referred to Sorcery's Perry Morris by a Warner Bros. record exec. to see if the band would be available to work on the Motion Picture Rocktober Blood." Q. They wanted Sorcery to do the soundtrack and appear in the picture as well? "Yes, Sorcery was booking their fall/winter Holiday shows, a busy time of the year for the band and had just signed to do the Dick Clark 90 min. Halloween specials. When David Glen Eisley, our lead vocalist , went out sick we needed a new singer / frontman immediately, for the Rocktober Blood project." Perry quickly located lead vocalist Nigel Benjamin, who was in L.A. at the time. Nigel was the previous lead singer for "Mott the Hoople " and the band "LONDON". "Perry, an "LA session player" throughout the 70's, had played with bands like, Harry Niellson, Jimmy Webb, Rick Nelson, just to name a few. Perry did soundtrack work for LA record companies like CASABLANCA records(Kiss's label), he also did TV "bumper sessions"(commercial jingle work) in the LA studios as well... He was a "Ludwig" endorsee (sponsered by Ludwig drum Co.) at age 19 ! " Says Sorcery guitarist Richard Taylor. **NOTE: for the Rocktober Blood movie project, Guitarist Richard Taylor ,Drummer Perry Morris , and Bassist Richie King were the only members of Sorcery to appear in the film! ******************************************************************************** Reviews Rocktober Blood/Sorcery, October 12, 2001 Reviewer: A viewer from San Francisco This movie is a real sleeper. The first time I viewed it I couldn't believe how great the band was. Turns out it was none other than the real life Heavy Metal Band SORCERY. This is the band that combined music and magic. I looked for them on the web, and found them... The action and suspense are above average too. Check it out. ******************************************************************************** "Now this is a movie"..... May 8, 2000 Reviewer: rainbow-eyes from Upstate New York Now this is a movie that no horror flick fan should be without! It is up there with the likes of Evil Dead and Trick or Treat. Metal music lovers will even appreciate the soundtrack to this movie. So if you're a horror movie/music fan get this while ya can! I highly reccomend it. ******************************************************************************** The Band Pulls it out!, May 20, 2000 Reviewer: A viewer from: NEW YORK The best part of this picture was the band "Headmistress" which was played by non-other than the real rock band "SORCERY". For me the band made the picture. From "Killer on the Lose" to "I'M BACK" strong songs as well as "Rainbow Eyes" and the best song for me was at the end of the picture, "Watching You". This is a band I've seen before in California years ago, serious players(musicians)at work here."Sorcery" have cds and I love mine. Also they are on the web.Picture was ok as well. Band=10/picture=4 ******************************************************************************** TO PURCHASE SORCERY MUSIC AND DVD'S or contact the BAND.... go to Links page. Sorcery:
